Aiden Kal, a 21 year-old senior, strolls through the halls on his way to his next class. His mind is consumed by the thoughts of teh future. But before his future can begin, he must past his next set of exams.
Out of the corner of his eye, he catches a glimpse of a young female, one which he has seen quite frequently of late. He pauses to observe.

Daedel Rysh, a young Nautolan wandered down the hallway, her newly polished boots clicking on the floor of the hallway. Her tentilled headtails calmly swaying with her strides.
She blinked her wide dark eyes, sensing something in the air. Someone was nearby. Turning her head to the left, she realized it was a young man. He'd seen her before, she was sure of it, however they'd never formally met. Daedel was generally quiet and kept to herself, so that wasn't surprising. She generally didn't know how to act around people, and generally preferred to tinker with mechanical things or read old archives of the great ancestors she descended from.
She swallowed and managed the courage to speak, despite her shy reserve that some beings percieved for being aloof. "I've seen you around before, but we've never met." She moved a bit closer towards the young man and bowed her head slightly.

Pleasantly surprised, actually, completely shocked that the girl he's had his eye on would strike up a conversation, Aiden stumbled to collect his thoughts. He avoided eye contact momentarily, but when his eyes locked with hers, he felt a sudden, comfortable calm.
"Hey, yeah. History, right? I mean, you're in Professor Sol's Old Republic history class, right? Third row, fourth seat from the right..."
Realizing the creepiness in his words, he relaxes a bit.
"...or somewhere near there. I'm Aiden..."
He extends his hand formally.

The phermones in the air buzzed, and she realized that he was surprised. The Nautolan species had a slight empath ability that allowed them to percieve the emotions others had. At first the man seemed nervous, but he relaxed as he extended his hand.
Daedel wasn't usually good at conversation, but she knew humans had a way of showing good faith by extending a hand. She reached out for his hand, and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"That's correct. Nice to formally meet you. My name's Daedel. I have seen you around as well, but I don't usually spend time with the other students after hours."

"Daedel. Nice name. Well, I'm glad you took the time to talk..."
BOOOOOOM. A massive explosion about 50-yards down the hall erupts. Smoke and debris quickly fill the space. Aiden, deafened by the explosion instinctively leaps onto Daedel in an attempt to shield her from injury.
The ceilings begin to crumble, loud screams from injured students ring out.

Her headtails sprung into the air, immediately sensing danger and distress. Her immediate response was to run to go get help. That wouldn't help many of the injured here though.
She went to the fire alarm positioned on the wall behind Aiden and pulled it down, the alarms in the building had locators in them to help any emergency personel to be able to pinpoint the area of need. The alarm activated the nearby water sprinklers that might be able to help with any fires caused by the explosion.
Grabbing a fire extinguisher, she ran towards the chaos, hearing the cries and moans from some of the students who'd been affected.
She began trying to extinguish the flames close to some of them, and tossed the extinguisher aside, before bending down to examine one of the more injured students.

Aiden needed a few seconds to collect himself. What just happened? He thought to himself.
As he turned, he saw Daedel, already in action, helping the injured. He moved to join her when he saw a shadow move quickly from the smoke. It was dark, and almost transparent, but moved with a focus to escape.
He grabbed Daedel's shoulder.
"Did you see that???"

The Nautolan felt her skin prickle and her headtails twitched uneasily as she bent down to help an injured Twi'lek male. A black shadow moved across the scene, and moved towards the nearest exit.
All sense of having an antisocial personality was lost, as she surveyed the chaos. She knew what she had to do, and would do whatever it took to get to the bottom of this.
"You know first aid. I've seen you in classes." She pulled a mini first aid kit from her utility belt and handed it to a nearby human student who was dazed but unscathed. "Help this man." She ordered as she gestured at the Twi'lek.
She looked over at Aiden. She realized she didn't have a weapon. She grabbed a piece of durasteel from the wreckage and wielded it like a bat. "Come on!" She immediately began to try to follow in the direction the figure or shadow had gone.

Aiden wasn't as sure of himself.
"Uh, really?"
You're a man, Aiden- his mind yelled.
"I mean, yeah, let's go."
He looked around and grabbed the fire extinguisher. He caught a look from Daedel.
"What? It can be dangerous."
As they walked toward the direction of the shadow, the entire hall behind them collapsed, cutting them off from the other students....

The Nautolan skidded to a halt on the slick floors as the entire area of the Academy shook beneath her feet. She saw Aiden behind her, and moved to push him out of the way from a chunk of the cieling that came crashing down. It missed both of them by inches and left the air heavy with dust.
She coughed, and began to breathe more slowly, in order to try to purify the air until the dust settled. Looking back the way they'd come, she realized they wouldn't be heading that way anytime soon. She hoped the emergency personel would be able to access the crash site and treat the injured.
She looked back the way the shadow/figure had fled and couldn't percieve it with her eyes in the looming darkness. Now that the lights in this area had gone out, they'd have to proceed more carefully.
"You're not injured. This is good." She tried to think on her toes as her mind raced on what to do from this point. Should they try to find the being or just find the nearest exit from the hallway?

When the lights went out, darkness surrounded the two. Aiden clutched the fire extinguisher. He tried to put on a brave face for Daedel.
"Don't worry, we should probably find a safe place to hang. No telling if the building is safe."
Just as he finished his sentence, he heard something move to his left. It was the shadow figure.
"You there, show yourself" he commanded.

Lyel was an officer of the Imperial Army. His family has long been in power of the Empire, since the days before the Imperial Remnant. He hated parts of his job and this was one of those parts. He walked through part of the Academy. He was here to scout the talent and to improve relations with the planet and Republic.
Lyel cursed as he was thrown to the ground from an explosion. His uniform was all dusty now as he got up and dusted him self off before grabbing his small blaster. He looked around but was knocked back down moments later by a shadowy figure.

Daedel saw his strained expression and felt his fear mingling with that of her own. She had lived and breathed fear before. But this was a different kind of fear, one of animalistic nature. This was a more intelligent being. Maybe one that didn't know how to pilot in the Coruscant traffic lanes properly... but a sentient intelligent being nonetheless.
She crouched in a ready stance with her sharp durasteel pole. "We will harm you if we must. We just want to leave unharmed."

The shadow looked opaque, but yet solidly dangerous. He could sense it's mal-intent. The shadow leaped into Aiden's body, his eyes blackened as he turned to Daedel.
"WE ARE the SHADOW DEMONS. WE WILL DESTROY YOU!" Aiden said, posessed.
He furiously swung the extinguisher at Daedel.
"YOU SHALL DIE"
