Soyu smiled and bowed slightly to Rhys. He was glad that he had been useful. The man had been in pain and Soyu had the ability to prevent that: the answer seemed as simple to him as breathing.
Moving to the table and selecting a larger bacta patch, he applied it carefully over the extensive injuries on Rhys' chest. Glancing at a screen that displayed a scan of Rhys, he applied these to a few other areas also, before placing some smaller bacta patches on the more superficial cuts and bruises the man had sustained. He waited until Rhys was drifting off before tending to the wounds on his face, then, reaching out through the Force to ensure that he was asleep, Soyu looked at Jaslin and asked
"Master... who is he?"

Jaslin sighed as Soyu asked her the question. Who was he? Judging by his name Jaslin assumed he was a descendant of Niomi Sykes, probably Skyler Scott's son.
Glancing down at the bed, Jaslin wondered what Rhys was seeing in his dreams.
Conveniently the machine near the bed beeped. She paused a moment and looked at Manda and spoke gently,
"What we learn here may not be for the benefit of our patient. Whatever the results, do not give anything away to Rhys, until I am sure he can handle it."
Her hand pressed a sequence of keys that brought up the results. As she read the, a frown crossed her face.
"Something must be wrong with this machine Soyu."
Jaslin hit a few keys and rechecked the results. The DNA from Rhys blood was reflecting the exact same DNA sequence as Skyler. It was not just similar, it was identical. Handing the results to Soyu, she sat down on a chair near the bed, her usually calm face contorted in confusion.
"According to those results... This man is Skyler Scott..."

Rhys woke with a start in a darkened room. He stood up, and was surprised to find that there was grass and he wasn't in a hospital room in the Jedi Temple at all. He couldn't help but smirk and jump around, squishing mud between his bare toes.
He turned around and there was a sudden flash of light that illuminated a cave that he was apparently in. It was circular in shape, with stalactites and stalagmites reaching up from the ground and down from the cieling as if trying to stab any intruder that might try to reach the crystals at the centre of the room.
Rhys moved over and gazed at the crystals, his eyes in a daze, as if he was helpless to avert them from the multifaceted and colourful crystals that grew upwards from the centre of the cave.
Smoke filled his vision, and an evil laugh filled the room, shaking the walls with the volume of it. "You're mine-" Suddenly as a hand descended from the crystal's form, he was wrenched backwards and into the arms of one of his Wookiee brothers from his childhood on Kashyyyk. <"Don't be afraid to ask for help."> The brother reminded him.
Outside the dream, Rhys twitched and turned in the bed restlessly.

As Soyu looked through the results, he could see that what the Master said was true. While a certain amount, even a large amount, of similarity could be expected between the genotypes of blood relatives, this test showed an exact match across all of the polymorphic marker sequences used to determine identity. Considering the number of markers used, it was close to statistically impossible that two people would share all of them. This was, indeed, confusing. At that moment, however, a thought occurred to Soyu, a lesson from his training. Do not make assumptions - things are simply what they are.
"Master, as far as I am aware... the test cannot say that Rhys is Skyler, it can only tell us that he has the same DNA as Skyler... is that correct? To say that he is Skyler would require a demonstration of some sort of psychological continuity..."
As far as Soyu was aware from his reading in the Archives, considering Rhys' apparent age, amongst other factors, he thought it was unlikely that Rhys was the same entity as Skyler. There was a more likely solution, and Soyu could recall more than one usage of clones in the annals of Galactic history.
"There is another way that they could share DNA and yet be different people..."

Jaslin smacked her forehead as the obvious answer came out of Soyu's mouth. Truly wonderful, the mind of a child, she thought to herself.
Smiling at Manda, she nodded her agreement.
"You are right of course Soyu. It makes a lot more sense than them being the same person, Rhys could quite possibly be a clone."
Thinking back to her training in the medical laboratories on Corellia, Jaslin began to go over the results for the DNA test.
"Here..."
She said, pointing to a specific marker on the results.
"I don't know how I missed this before, but this marker is what to cloners would be the same as an artists signature on his work. They "sign" their work as well, cloners do..."
Although Jaslin did not mind clones themselves she did have a slight distaste for people who meddled in the affairs of the Force, who tried to play at creating life. Yet looking down at Rhys, Jaslin could not help but feel sympathy for the man. No, clone or not, there was definitely nothing wrong with the young man. As he twitched, Jaslin brushed a calming hand over his head, using the Force to send out a wave of relaxation that would ease away any nightmare's he was having...

Soyu frowned as one of the bacta patches he had applied fell off when Rhys began to toss and turn. He clearly needed more practice with the things. Selecting a new one, he took his time applying it, ensuring it was correctly anchored in place. As he did so, he thought about the revelation that this man was, in fact, a clone. If anything, it seemed to bring more questions than answers.
"But who would want to clone Skyler? And why?"
His frown deepened, and he looked at Jaslin.
"He doesn't know?"

Jaslin nodded. No, he did not know. That much was clear from what he had told her.
This would complicate things.
"No, I do not think he knows Soyu. We must be careful how proceed with this."
Why could things never be simple in this galaxy? It was not her job to complain, but some days she really wanted to. Reaching across the stand Jaslin drew a drip and stand closer which contained in the bag on it enough nutrients to begin replenishing Rhys.
Taking his arm gently in hers, she again numbed the area where she was to insert the needle, and with the experience of years inserted the needle into a vein as only a true medical professional could...

As Jaslin waved a comforting hand over him, Rhys felt a wave of calming bliss run throughout him as if a week of happy days had suddenly overcome his senses, overloading his sensory receptors and nerves in his brain with serotonin and dopamine.
He woke up crouched in the tall grasses of some unknown location. He stood quickly and realized he was standing in a meadow. It was springtime, or seemed to be by the amount of flowering bushes and trees in the area. It must have been sunset because pinks, orange and daffodil yellow swept across the horizon as the sun set between a set of snow capped mountains in the distance.
A pair of butterflies danced around him in a whirl of playful love as trails of varied colour followed their flight path. He looked around him as the grasses swayed back and forth with the wind that blew through the meadow. He couldn't help but feel as if he should follow the butterflies. He began to chase them, but they moved blindingly fast for such a small insects. With his right hand he attempted to reach out and grasp one, but it vanished and reappeared behind his ear. It landed on his temple, and out of nowhere, a thought that wasn't his, told him, "Don't chase your destiny. It will happen as it should..." The butterfly then flitted off to join the other one in the distance.
It never occurred to him that butterflies couldn't talk, he just took it as if it was normal, and continued his trek towards the forrest line at the edge of the meadow.

The butterfly disappeared into the meadow with a flicker of light, lost in the darkness of the forest. Rhys stood there for a moment, wavering in his decision to continue. "Sometimes the path through the forest requires you new eyes to see through the trees," a voice murmered.
Why can't I just dream peacefully, without having some shaman tell me what to do in my dreams? Rhys muttered to himself. Without further hesitation, he continued his way through the forest.
He came to a fork in the road, which read gibberish in another language he wasn't familiar with. Under one of the sign brackets read 5 miles, and the other, 10 miles. Of course, wanting to get out of the darkness more quickly, he chose the 5 mile road. The road switchbacked back and forth in a windy pattern, before it started to get more dim as less light penetrated through the trees and all colour seemed to be virtually lost from the forest.
With a guttural roar in the distance, he turned back the way he had came and took off at a sprint. He soon found he was surrounded with the voice, but figured he had to keep on trying to get out of the forest. He came to a clearing that hadn't been there before, but no light seemed to penetrate it, save for the fires that raged across the city of Coronet, the capital of the planet Corellia. Screams cried out in agony begging for someone to stop the madness as people fled every which way. Wide spread chaos had gripped the Corellian capital. Bombs had gone off and city wide alarms blasted defeaningly as police and military crews moved in. Starfighters and transports collided all over the city and in the sky lanes in an effort to escape.
This wasn't the work of amateurs. This was something far more devastating. He could feel the sadness, pain and anger that people felt. If that was even possible. For it was only a dream.
Rhys couldn't help but feel intense sadness grip his chest, making it harder to breathe. It was only a dream..
Rhys awoke with a start, his heart rate spiking upwards, with perspiration beading on his forehead. He probably wouldn't be able to sleep after that. He noticed with amazement that physically, he did feel better though. He couldn't have been out that long. Whatever the Jedi healers did to help him, they did very well.

As Rhys started sensing the pain of death through the Force, Jaslin too felt it. By the time Rhys had suddenly shot up Jaslin was on the floor on her knees, her head in her hands. Something terrible had happened.
Voices were screaming through the Force, voices that held all the pain and agony of a final moment, and suddenly those voices stopped. Thousands of people had just died, of that Jaslin was sure.
She continued to kneel on the floor, shaken by what she had just felt. Never in her life had she experienced something this catastrophic. Not even the bombing of the Coruscant academy had been this bad.
With that thought, Jaslin knew what had happened. The terrorists had struck again, had taken this moment when the Republic's defences were at its lowest after the Academy explosion to launch another attack...

Rhys pushed himself out of bed, and slipped off the side, and crouched down beside Jaslin. The Jedi Master seemed to be in great pain and Rhys couldn't help but feel for her. Whatever had happened, it obviously hurt her very much. He put a comforting arm around her and rubbed her back soothingly. "It's alright Master Jedi. You're going to be ok..." He tried to reassure her, but even he wasn't sure if they were going to be alright.
In an attempt to lighten the mood, he tried using humour. "Those were some drugs Master... I thought I wasn't coming back from that trip. Wooooosh!" He moved his hand over his head and flashed a white smile. He hoped he wasn't invading her personal space by trying to reassure her, his only intention was to help.

Jaslin appreciated the reassurance Rhys offered. She forced herself to stand up and tried her best to steady herself however her knees were weak and her hands trembled at the thought of what she had just felt. She looked at Rhys thoughtfully for a moment, and then spoke to him and Manda,
"You felt that too, did you not? A great tragedy has occurred..."

Rhys' eyes widened in surprise. "That was... real? That wasn't a dream or nightmare or side effect of the painkillers...?" He furrowed his brows and ran a hand through his short hair nervously. What did this mean? Was he force sensitive as some beings called it, or was he just able to feel it because of the proximity of the Jedi all around him?
"So what do we do?" His tone was eager. The Jedi had after all saved him, and he felt he should try to pay them back any way he could. He looked over at Manda who also seemed troubled by what had transpired.

Like the others, Soyu had felt the wave of pain that crossed the universe, but to a much lesser extent than Jaslin and, to his brief surprise, Rhys. It seemed awfully distant to him, but strong enough to turn his stomach and force him to brace himself on the edge of Rhys' bed for support. He exchanged glances with Rhys then looked to Jaslin.
"It didn't feel... here, Master... did something happen somewhere else?"

A red light suddenly flashed across his console screen. David glanced over at the screen and saw a red light pulsating on a map of the halls of healing. Ticket tape style writing was coursing across the bottom of the screen reading, droid: Med 13 class ‘scrubber droid’ status ‘offline and immobile’. David sighed and stood up, stretching out his neck and causing Cheko to chirp as her warm spot on his lap suddenly surged up. She clawed for purchase and clambered up to his shoulder. David picked up his belt and made his way out of his small workshop, lifting a spare buffer pad and joint from a spare parts bin. It was most likely a buffer pad He thought, as the door hissed shut behind him and he started towards the lift. Dam things where always being eaten away by the high concentrated cleaning products needed for sanitising a hospital floor. He hit the button for the Halls of Healing and was soon making his way down the corroder, scanning left and right with a small sensor pad, searching for the droid. He came to the first set of doors and walked through, scanning left and right for a signal. He looked over and saw that a few of the beds where occupied. Towards the end a bed, oviously recently occupied a man around Treys age knelt by Master Chryss' side. He was very attractive. David felt the blood rise to his face and kept his head down, concentrating on the slight blip that had appeared on his radar. Suddenly Cheko bounded of his shoulder and ran over to the bed. “Cheko! Come here!” David gasped. He walked quickly over to where Chiko was putting her paws up on Master Chryss and lifted her into his arms “I am so sorry master, I hope she didn’t interrupt anything, I was just up here looking for a droid, but she has been alone all day and…” David looked down at the man beside Master Chryss. “Hi, I am David”, He mumbled.
