It had been many years since the fateful day Renatus fell, and many things had changed. Balance in all things Revan thought to himself, it was something he had experience his entire life, from the events as a Jedi right up to the point he took mantle of Dark Lord from his former master. 150 years he and the remnant of his Sith followers had trolled along the Unknown regions, laying in wait for the proper time to unleashed themselves on the galaxy once more. Revan fiddled with Sith Holocron that was delivered to him with the passing of Darth Renatus, attempting to focus himself solely on it, in hopes of unlocking more knowledge that he may use. Most of all, he wanted to know what Renatus had hoped to gain from sacrificing himself to his brother Samual, Grand Master of the Jedi order. You were the more powerful combatant my Master, why did you sacrifice yourself, what were you gaining by doing so? For 150 years that question had plagued Revan, even with unlocking mountains of information passed along through not only Renatus, but the former Sith Lord that stretched so far back it boggled lesser minds.
Hours seemed to pass, sifting through prior information already seen, the information he shared with only his loyal apprentice and daughter. The ability to extend ones life through the ways of the Dark Side... through the Force, old and forgotten techniques, but in all this... no answers to his question of what Renatus sought through his death. Frustration began to mount, there was something keeping him from progressing any further into the depths of the holocron, as if someone purposely was interferring with his attempts. Halting his attempts, his conscious mind returned to the aging Tiberius. Once a great flagship of the New Sith Empire, reduced to wandering transport of a waiting peoples. Through their journeys, which he detailed in his own keepings, Revan was amazed at how many followers still found their way to the Sith Lord's flagship, even in the remote of space. Of course, it was not the first time Revan had wandered the deep of space, but back then he was still a Jedi, and still Revan Ecilam.
The Tiberius' comm system snapped on, "M'Lord Malice, Lady Viera returns with reports of a step closure to your ordered search" a strong voice spoke, most likely from the bridge. Revan was easily confused with some of his personal these days. But anyone would be with having an army of semi-cloned troopers running an entire warship. Although Kamino was long since lost, Revan was able to procure one last batch of soldiers with promise to return for more.
"Very well Admiral Ren, allow her to dock and have her directed immediatly to my quarters" Revan said after a momentary pause. His voice chilled the skins from most, however Ren had served faithfully since the beginning. Although he was not the original Kel'dar Ren, memory printing and a freshly cloned body made him seem like it. Most in the Sith Empire, or what was left of it, had given him the name of Kel'dar the Unbreakable for his heroic acts in the final battle. He did things that would have killed most, and to a few knowledgeable minds, did kill him.
"She is already on her way M'Lord, none to pleased it seems" Kel'dar said in a less serious note then usual for a man of his mind set.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was not long after that transmission Viera, or as Revan knew her Serenity, entered the quarters of her Master. The child had seemingly not aged one day, but this could have been simply due to something the Kamino scientist did during the altering process just after her birth. She, without any shadow of a doubt, was feeling the affects of age just as badly as her Father. The force put off the worse of it all, but not without internal effects to be sure. She took a knee, head tipped forward, letting silence grip the room.
"You come with news my daughter? For the sake of our journey back to known space, it had better be good news" Revan stated in a stern tone.
"Fath... My Master, I bring news of yet another Holocron found. However, it's people regard it as something it is not. I don't believe they will let it go without a fight" Serenity reported as per her findings. The tone of her voice seemingly lusting for a battle. Ever since the Death of her apprentice, her lover, Serenity had not been the same. Killed in the final battle with the Jedi, Serenity watched her apprentice fall to the ground and was unable to act on it due to the order for withdrawl.
"Very well then, go my daughter Viera, take what we came for, I will not be kept from the knowledge I seek. Prepare what is needed to obtain the holocron from these pathetic excuses of life, kill whatever gets in your way" Revan ordered, swiftly, without any kind of second thought.
"It will be done by your will my Master" Serenity responded before exiting the room. She sealed the doors shut behind her, as was her custom. She knew her father better then anyone, having shared most of his lifes thoughts and memorys, she knew when he wanted to be left to his work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pulling the holocron of Renatus back into view, and channeling himself to it, Revan prepared to start from the beginning of the holocron's information. Come my Master... my brother, show me what knowledge you yet hide from me....

As Revan's mind entered the holocron a faint shape formed before him. The well known form of his old master, Darth Renatus turned to face his apprentice once more with his faintly glowing eyes. Speaking with an echoing voice accompanied by the whispers of ancient Sith Renatus addressed Malice.
"Back again I see. Still searching for the answers you crave?"
The fog surrounding Renatus flashed with images, rapid fire transitions between glimpses of knowledge and power.
"What I can give is what you have seen. I am a gatekeeper, nothing more. The answers you seek in your heart are not those that I can grant you. This holocron contains knowledge of Sith and Jedi techniques and history. You know this... By your very age you have demonstrated this knowledge."
Stepping slowly closer Renatus' form started growing darker, his right arm hidden beneath his cloak.
"I was sought knowledge as you did... From the ancient Sith Lords... I became as ravenous as Nihilus... As broken as Sion... And as proud as Bane."
The man who was once called master began to shift in form, becoming more animalistic as he approached.
"You are lost in the past, weak, pathetic... You do not deserve the mantle of Sith Lord!"
With a roar Renatus' saber ignited, lunging forward to strike at Darth Malice's heart.
Not quite yet...
A powerful tug gripped Mlice and yanked his conciousness from the holocron, dissappearing as suddenly as it came. Back in his quarters a faint, glowing shape stood before Malice in simple robes, his grey eyes fixed on Revan.

Revan looked on as the holocron lay on the floor, his hands still in the position they were when his mind left his quarters. A faint glow beamed throughout the room, and caught Revan's gazed. The shape of a man stood before him, glaring into Revan's soul, not speaking a word. Confusion gripped Revan's mind, he had seen this spirit before, this person before, but so many years ago that was.
"To say I am surprised to see you, would not be fitting. I have long since known that some part of you, this part, still lay dormant in my Master. Tell me ghost of Renatus' past, are you what held him back in the Final battle with Samual? Why do you appear to me now?" Revan stated in a questioning manner.
If ever there was a moment to aquire some measure of answers, this was it. Revan would no longer be kept from the truth, he had gained many secrets from different holocrons he collected through the years, and the spirit would answer or feel his anger.

With a smile the Force Ghost of Higomi L'eonheart studied the aging Darth Malice. He had not alwaus been there, watching Renatus' apprentice, but had always kept a block in place on the Holocron he had left him.
No, Revan... I did not hold back Renatus in the final battle.
Crossing the short space between Revan and himself Higomi sat beside his old friend.
There were many things you didn't know about me.

Revan watched as Higomi, Renatus' former identity, took a place next to him. Fixating his gaze to the other side of the room, Revan's mind stirred around the statement. "There were many things you didn't know about me", it made Revan truly cringe at the thoughts of what could be lurking behind that statement.
"Tell me Higomi, what secrets are being held back... what things am I not aware of in my age?" Revan asked quizzically.
The silence of the room once again took place, a cold chilling affect rolled through the air. No answers came from Higomi, but then again, it could take a life time to explain a proper answer to that question. Revan knew this, he felt the silence before finishing his question. He would have to approach this from a different manner if to have anything revealed.
Closing his weary aging eyes, and taking a deep breath, Revan turned to meet Higomi's gaze. The bright light emanating from the body of the Force Ghost was something only a few would see in their life time, that number significantly smaller amount the ranks of the Sith. With a winced gaze, and a determined look on his face, Revan asked once more, "Tell me what you can Higomi, I've come to accept, like no Sith Lord has before me, that Darkness and Light are intertwined, and that we all must accept the presence of both. What is it that I do not know about you... about myself?"

With a long sigh Higomi thought carefully about the answer. Truly it was complicated and not easily told.
"Did you know I had a son? His name was Jacob... I didn't know he existed until I... Until I killed Master Rena."
The pain in his voice as Higomi mentioned his former master and lover was evidant.
"For him.. I followed this 'golden path'. I wanted peace, true peace. I knew as things were it would never happen. So, for the love of a son, I became a monster."
Standing once more Higomi began to pace, contemplating his words as he let it all sink in for Revan.
"My plan worked... The torn factions of this galaxy came together in glorious fashion, all aiming to stop me. I had finally united the Galaxy, though no one truly knew. Still, peace could never come while the threat remained..."
Approaching Revan once more Higomi placed a translucent hand on Revan's forhead.
"Let me in... Let me show you...
Closing his eyes Higomi let his memories flow into Revan, forcing the world to disappear before Revan's eyes and be replaced with an age gone by.
-----------------------------------
The chaos of the war about the broken bunker echoed faintly, a calm amongst the storm. Darth Renatus stood quietly, looking out across the battlefield as he felt a familiar presence.
"Brother..." Renatus' voice was quiet, almost at peace.
"Higomi, why are you doing this?" Samual's voice mirrored his brother's, though it was tinged with a deep sadness.
"You know why, Brother... And you know what comes next."
"I won't do it."
"You don't have a choice... I didn't have a choice..."
Renatus spun about to face the Grand Master of the New Jedi Order, letting his hood fall to his shoulders. Igniting his black saber the bunker lit with it's eerie white glow. Samual's saber ignited in response, their quiet hum filling the silence with deadly intent.
"You know the dance well, Sam... This time we finish it."
With a silent yell Renatus dashed forward, Samual's blade deflecting his as they fell into deadly combat. To those who were witness to the confrontation from afar it seemed a dance, one rehearsed time after time. The power of the two Masters was palpable, igniting in strings of light and darkness as each saber met the other. In the solitude of the bunker tears began to fall amongst the rubble, tears from the Dark Lord.
"Please, Sam... Don't tell him who I am... Don't tell Jacob what his father became."
"I won't, Higomi... No one will know."
Renatus, no, Higomi closed his eyes tightly, letting out a slow breath as he launched into a desperate flurry of attacks. He was a master of the blade and knew full well the opening he gave. At the same time, he was forcing his brother's hand. Just like before, when Higomi was forced to end the life of Jedi Master Rena, Samual had to take the opening or die himself.
With silent tears Samual's blade struck home, Higomi's memories began to fade, a calming sensation filling his and Revan's bodies as they shared the memory.
"Thank you, my Brother... I hope we will meet again... Some day."
-----------------------------------
Just as quickly as it had begun Higomi removed his hand from Revan, looking at him softly.
"I never turned my back on the Sith either... I left you the knowledge to survive the fallout of my death.

"It is true, with your knowledge, and that of past Lords, I was able to keep our culture intact... even out here, in the absolute darkness" Revan reflected on the last generation of time. It had never occurred to him that Renatus had done such an act as the one Higomi had just shown him. He was never in ear shot to hear the final words, only to witness it with his eyes and thus only having half the story told until this moment.
"Your final actions in those times did draw the galaxy together, united, against us my Master. However, now, the Galaxy falls into a silent chaos from which no one dares warn another" Revan spoke, relaying information as it had been reported to him. "I'm sure you know of what I speak, the benefits of being able to traverse anywhere while being no where".
Revan stood, placing the holocron that had laid on the floor back into his clothing. He moved towards the door, knowing that Serenity would be waiting for his final order before launching the attack to obtain another of the Holocrons from the Unknown sector. The door opened, to anyone else outside the room, it would appear as if Revan was merely speaking with himself, "Renatus, I thank you for answering my questions, laying them to rest, so that my mind may move forward with my own plans. I will bring balance to the Galaxy, the Light and the Dark, eliminating all who stand in my way. I made a promise to Ailyn while she waited on the edge of life and death, and I aim to keep it before my time is done" Revan finished, the door sealing behind him. The ghost had faded from view, but Revan still felt it's... Higomi's presence.
"Anything more to add my Master?" Revan asked silently, one final time as he approached the main hanger of the Tiberius.

By this time Higomi's form had faded but he still heard Revans final thoughts. His response came as if a whisper.
Yeah, just one thing, my friend... Don't lose your Light in the Darkness
Cryptic as he had been in life Higomi's parting words were full of deeper meanings.

Revan smirked inside, the cryptic message being one he fully expected. "I won't loose that Light, it holds to much in the equation of balance to be lost" Revan noted, entering the hangar area. The old warship had lost most of it's fighter/bomber ships in the escape from Umbra, the Jedi's last known temple. Although it had been many years, he still thought it to be a massive stronghold regardless of any abandonment. Once this last task was completed though, he would bring the Tiberius and her Sith followers back to Cerberus Prime, the last Sith stronghold in the galaxy.
Two figures stood before Malice, his personal ship The Reckoner behind them, both extremely easy to pick out of a crowd however. Admiral Ren stood nearly 7 feet in height, clad in Mandalorian armor head to toe. Only once had any of the current leadership seen his face, and that was not even the true face of Kel'dar Ren, but that of a copy... a clone. Serenity stood on his flank, her appearance one that had strangely changed very little in the many many years since the final battle at Umbra. Most notable was her long flowing blonde hair, very similar to her mothers. It made Revan's memory stir, longing to have Ailyn back once more. His daughter would always be the one to stick out among the Sith, but her power held no equal, save for her father, and Revan knew she could always be trusted.
"M'Lord, your ship is ready and prepared for departure" Kel'dar said strongly, fist clenched and placed across his chest. Bowing ever so slightly, he still towered over most.
"Excellent Admiral. You will have this ship prepared for our return to Cerberus Prime apon our return, any systems that need to be fixed for that jump, you will move to the top of your list, am I understood?" Revan ordered. This order came with a verbal pride, a strong will behind his words. The Admiral had longed to hear such a tone, fearing that Revan was finally loosing his nerve.
"Aye M'Lord, it will be done" Kel'dar replied swiftly, returning to his natural stance, and exiting the hangar.
As the present company of Kel'dar and a few 66th troopers left the hangar, Serenity stood leaned against the docking door of the Reckoner, arms folded across ample chest, eyes closed, and a grin that could be seen miles away. Revan slowly approached, roughly 15 feet away. "You seem to have gotten your edge back father, a pleasing sight if I do say, I was begi..." Serenity stated, only to be cut off a split second later. She felt her body leave the ground ever so slightly, the air around her seemed to be void, and nothing she could do brought it all back to normal.
Revan approached closer and closer, no hand raise, only his mind focused. "You will be mind full of your words my apprentice. We may be kin, but you will remember your place and to show such respect" Revan said decisively. Releasing Serenity, she dropped to the ground taking a knee.
Gasping for the return of air, she looked on her father with a respectful gaze, "Yes My Master, I shall remember my place by your side, to obey and follow" said in a most appropriate tone. Since the events of Umbra, she had felt like her father was lost. A relic of the strong willed man she had come to know, beyond the memories she was imprinted with. Today that illusion was shattered, her father had never treated her in such a manner, and for the first time she had legitimate fear for her life.
"Now, get my ship to Talor, I want my holocron" Revan ordered, entering the Reckoner, no second thought about what had just transpired. Renatus' words were hallow... Revan was not as weak and pathetic as he let on. Certainly lost no where in the past anymore. He had his plans, and would see them through to the end. No singular person or force would stand in his way.
((OOC: Thread moving to Talor for the next part))

The last 5 days had been spent drifting through space, training and preparing. The Deep Dark was making its way to a small, lone planets in hidden territories. Ellis knew it would be difficult to find the planets, because there are no known coordinates for it, and it appears on no navicomputer available. It was simply a lost planet, that one had to know about and go searching for. As he drifted the outer rims, he had been tinkering around with his ship, making slight adjustments in the weapons and defense systems, as well as modifying the living space for better comfort, and more used space. He took apart a few cabinets that were not ever being used, and removed a few of the light fixtures in order to make the aura of his ship darker. Literally. He was used to darkness, he grew up in darkness, he would die in darkness. He also made a few major changes in the prisoner room. Leaving his job as a bounty hunter, he wouldn't quite need the cell for 5 prisoners. Instead, he would use the extra room to make one onboard force-sensitive cell, and an adjustments system for his helmet and armor. He was glad for the extra space he still had in the common quarters, which he would continue to use for combat training. While rather small, it was still spacey enough to provide a droid and serve as a training room. On his trip he had been focusing working on lightsaber combat, looking to further increase his knowledge of its use. While deadly with his other weapons, he had a little to catch up with his lightsaber. But he had intentions to do exactly that...

(To make up for my lost weekend.)
The Deep Dark entered into deep space once more, it's engines priming into hyperspace. Ellis leaned back in his chair, thoughts flowing through his mind. Mandalore... what could his Master possibly want from a lone body there? It didn't matter much, not to him anyways. He was not to disobey his Master's orders, whether or not he knew the reasoning behind them. Unstrapping his restraints, he stood up and moved towards the back of his ship, ducking under various cargo bins he had open. A computer module was blinking, and sitting down he pressed a button, pulling up the new information. A ship order had gone through and should be done shortly. He closed down the info pane then searched for info on Mandalore's current fleets and government, and about the Auricom production facility disaster. He would find a way to get in; he was only one man, after all, a lone citizen of the galaxy. He shut off the terminal then stood up stretching. Mandalore was a little bit aways, so he might as well get some combat training in.
Making his way to the middle of the room, he activated his lightsabers starting off with Shii-Cho and Makashi, making sure he was still a master of the first and second forms. Out came two battle droids, one armed with a blaster and one with a staff. Ellis dueled the two droids, practicing various techniques and moves. Becoming even more prideful in his knowledge of the first two forms, he smirked and moved on to the next. Resilience From III; Soresu, was not one of his best or favorites. It was mostly focused on defense, being mainly passive, something that the Sith were not. But it was yet another asset that may come in handy. Blaster shot after blaster shot, block after block and parry after parry, he fought against the two droids, being careful not to damage them, yet extend his use of the form. It seemed it was an hour of fighting before he heard his navicom beeping. He immediately stopped, deactivating the droids and rushed to the cockpit, force running to be exact. As he reached the pilot seat he sat down, buckling in as the navicom beeped, signaling his approach to Mandalore. His ship blasted out of hyperspace and his viewport was filled with beautiful Mandalore, surrounded by the Mandalorian fleet. Like a planet covered in nasty little gnats.

Numb.
That was the feeling one could feel should they be able to pass through the veil between the living and the dead, to reach the place between where the spirits of those who could become "ghosts" called home.
Numb. It was a good word to describe the way one could feel this far out, this distant from the rest of the galaxy. Disconnected, disjointed...forgotten.
The ship that drifted aimlessly through the void now could well take claim to those words. The vessel itself having become much of a ghost amongst the living itself. From the exterior, it looked as though it had just come off the line, the light of the nearest star gleaming off its hull with a unique sheen. Every now and then a slight spark would flash across the surface of the vessel, its shielding absorbing or deflecting the miniscule particles that careened carelessly through the void.
Aboard, the vessel was still fully operational albeit much of the systems had been disabled or scuttled to ensure the technology could never be used again. Given the countless years that had passed, much of the vessel was dark and cold with minimal life support and the emergency lighting engaged.
Once a small crew had walked these corridors, inhabited its holds. Once it had been a great warship, ready to defend its territories against those who would do them harm. Now, it was home to a small group of droids responsible for its upkeep...and a single man.
The main deck had long since been changed, destroyed at the order of a man who sought nothing more than peace for the galaxy. Technology had long since been a constant focal point, a game changer in a galaxy that had long ago forgotten other powers; that had been the reason this majestic vessel now lay crippled, listing aimlessly with its absurd cargo. The man himself simply sat there, kneeling within what could ammount to the center of the room, lost so deeply within himself.
How long had the ship drifted? How long had it been since he had boarded? Many questions surrounded the man, questions he simply ignored as his mind and soul appeared to be anywhere but here. The formal robes that surrounded the man were still crisp and well kept, as though they had been made for him no more than the day before. His hair was neatly kept, tied into a neat bob at the back of his head as his beard appeared to have been trimmed earlier that...day? Or was it night? So hard to tell this far out from the Core, this long ago from...when was it?
The ship itself seemed empty, as though the chill of the void that surrounded the small vessel was all that remained here. As though the man at its core didn't even exist. Within a second, that changed as the man's eyes slowly opened, the pressure within the chamber becoming suffocating as ancient metallic plating creaked and groaned under the weight before...nothing. It was empty again, except for the now waken man, a thin smile crossing his face as his vibrant emerald eyes looked out across the darkened chamber. Something, particularily someone, had stirred him from his meditations; the consequences from these two events would ripple through the Galaxy as a whole if history chose to repeat itself. As quickly as the pencil thin smile appeared, it vanished, the man rising to his feet slowly as his figure belied his years.
His strides towards the nose of the vessel, to its cockpit, spoke of his history. Each purposeful footfall that silently connected with the deck was a demonstration of his inner peace, the nonchalant pace at which he moved was not attributed to his age but his sage-like knowledge. As the man moved down the corridor, doors opened without a single movement towards the control panel, lights would brighten and dim as he neared and then left their proximity. Within the cockpit a lone droid, an astromech, spun its head about to view its master; low tweets and chirps from the ancient machine allowing it to communicate with the elder man.
The response was a deep voice, almost too serene yet gravelly from years of inactivity, "No."
There was a power behind the word, dispite the slight weakness within the voice. He cleared his throat before continuing, the deep baritone still carrying its almost serene and soothing quality, "No, my friend...I need you to bring the Mercury home...I have other business to attend to."
A few more tweets, chirps and cries emitted from the ancient droid before the man responded, "I'll come back, I always do...besides, they won't even know I'm there."
The droid's head spun back towards its console as a small interface droned its way away from its core and into the system, a small holographic image of the droid winking into existance upon the main console as the warship's core began to roar to life. Before the hologram could turn to face its master, he was gone. The disturbed air where he had once stood was all the remained outside of the droning mechanisms.
