All clear in this section, as usual... Nothing but wind and rain.
As the comm clicked off the Mercenary shook his head in frustration. That's all there ever was on this damned planet, endless storms. Or at least that's how he felt about it. Other than the Kaminoans that still showed up from time to time there was nothing to be found, which was the way they liked it. Mercs aren't exactly welcome in most Republic planets, especially one with the reputation they possessed. Sighing heavily the merc looked back out to the raging sea, wondering when the shifts would change and he could get some rest.
Just as he was starting to zone out a sound came from behind him. Spinning around he scanned for the source of the whistle he had heard. Gun at the ready he took a few steps forward. '"Who's there?" He called warily, knowing no one should be in this section of the facility. After a few moments pause he straightened again, lowering his rifle. "Strange... must have been imagining things."
"Not quite."
The unknown voice came from behind him, hands gripping him before he had time to react. The world spun around him as he was flown helplessly over the edge, blacking out mid flight.
------------
Higomi wasn't out to kill, at least not the mercenaries that now occupied the main cloning facility on Kamino. It was hardly their fault they had chosen to make this their home. He had ensured that the merc he had thrown would land on one of the lower platforms. It would hurt but it was far from fatal. Wrapping his black cloak tighter around himself he winced as the wind picked up, spraying water into his eyes. He definitely didn't miss the storms. Moving forward he used subtle amounts of Force to dampen the sound of his movements, the black cloak, tinged with faint blue, helped keep him hidden from eyes.
It hadn't been easy tracking down information on Kamino, then again nothing ever was for him. It seemed after the war it had dropped from the records of the Republic, as was often the case. He doubted the Jedi Archives still held reference to it. Cloners were something often relegated to the back of society's thoughts. Useful, but not something you wanted to openly acknowledge. It was that very fact that brought him here. Higomi knew this body wouldn't last. His connection to the Force was too strong for it to handle. As Darth Renatus he had never intended to survive the war with the Republic, yet he was cautious enough to have a backup plan. Somewhere, hidden deep in this facility, was a dormant clone of Higomi, frozen in suspended animation.
Turning a corner he happened upon another patrolling mercenary, this one was staring straight at him when he emerged. Cursing mentally he dashed forward, deflecting the rifle to the side with his left arm. The merc was quick, attempting to strike out with the stock of his rifle, but Higomi was quicker. Ducking into a quick spin he felt the rifle pass overhead, his hair rustling in response. Using the spin as momentum he swung his fist into the unarmored gut of the merc, stopping him in his tracks. Continuing forward he slipped behind the man and struck at the nerves on his neck, effectively knocking him out. Letting out a long breath Higomi mentally retraced his steps, trying to ensure he was heading the right way.
He had been lucky so far, had managed to avoid most of the patrols. Slipping deeper into the facility he flicked open a hidden security panel, entering an access code that hadn't been used in over a hundred years. The door slid open slowly, letting out a low screech of protest. Darkness remained inside, the lights unable to power on properly. Taking a few cautious steps forward Higomi produced a glowstick from his belt and tossed it forward.
The room was almost entirely empty, the only contents being the large stasis chamber at the center. Moving forward he placed his hand on the chamber, ignoring the stinging cold as he wiped away the frost. Eyes closed, looking utterly at peace, Higomi's young body lay motionless. With a sad smile he took a step back. It was time to let this body rest. Placing both hands on the chamber he focused on his connection to the Living Force, freeing himself of the bonds he had forged with his current body. He felt himself growing lighter as the world around him faded into darkness.
