As Sola went to plug her card into the dataport, bringing up a guest account, she looked down the computer bank to Mal. She smirked and turned back to the screen. He was obviously resourceful as well. Then again, the Naboo were generally peaceful people and not good at keeping things on lock down when things should be airtight at all times.
She inserted another datachip she had from her utility belt that would allow her to run a ghost program thereby surfing the databases freely as if she was an administrator to this system and then wipe the memory of her ever being there once she was finished.
Vanessa scanned the screen quickly, searching for recent stories of any Mandalorians or files on Kamino. She had woken up on Kamino two years ago, with no memory of who she had been before arriving there. She still retained her knowledge of language, and was able to speak galactic basic and remembered basic combat and ship controls, and various interesting facts about computers and various species in the galaxy but other than that, she was... blank as if someone had wiped her.
Her eyes fluttered, and she began to doze off slightly.
After she had unhooked the IV and various other tubes from herself, she'd found a Mandalorian suit in the locker just outside her medical room. It had her Identification, but for some reason she looked in the mirror of the locker and did not look anything like the women in the ID card who was named Vanessa Sola. She glanced closer, and figured, she'd keep it anyway. It might come in handy.
She felt her joints creek and muscles stiffen painfully as she tried to walk about the room, examining any charts or data that she would be able to. She had obviously not walked in a long time, so it would take some getting used to again.
She managed to pull her medical files and anything else on the screen onto a datachip, and tucked it into the pocket on the Mandalorian utility belt. The screen said 23:00 Kamino time. "Kamino?" What the hell am I doing on Kamino?? And why can't I remember my own name?
She glanced over at the armour and changed into it as fast as she could. There was an undershirt which she slipped into. The undershirt was slightly big but the armour fit snuggly. She almost fell over with the weight of it at first, not accustomed to wearing normal clothing except medical gowns in a long time.
She got up from the floor, and attached the belt and slipped the helmet and HUD over her head. ..Well Vanessa Sola, guess I'll see the world through your eyes... she thought to herself. Infact, I like your name. I'll be you from now on.
...
Sola blinked, coming out of deep thought that the memory had brought her, to hear the chilling tone of a droid behind her.
"Master... I thought that was you. I am quite glad to see you." D1KYN (D1e) had walked up behind her, and put his hand on her shoulder. "I am so happy you managed to fulfill your last mission."

Mal was uncertain where to begin. He had only heard rumours of what he was looking for - a spacer's tale here, a childhood bedtime story there, a drunken man's yarn in a tavern, or whispered exchanges of the legend.
Of course as with every myth it had to be based in legend. Nothing started without the smallest ounce of truth. And that was what Mal was looking for in the library.
He had to find the truth that was in the myth of the lost treasure. What he'd heard at first was that a fleet of ships had gone missing carrying more treasure than had ever been collected together in one place in the known galaxy. What he'd filtered this down to was the facts. The facts that the "fleet" was simply a single Star Destroyer size ship, carrying a high valued inventory of goods, that had left an unknown planet, for an unknown destination, never to arrive.
Well, it was definitely not much. But it was something. Humming to himself, Mal began to search through the databases...

Sola had her vibro shiv out of her wrist gaunlet as soon as she'd heard the words spoken by the droid, but hid it from view beneath the oak table the database computers rested on. She turned her head to focus her blue green eyes on the protocol droid. It wasn't your average looking protocol droid... It looked slightly menacing with high tech armour and looked as if it had secret compartments for spare parts or something else. Its tone was dark and sinister sounding.
"And... as your Master, I request that you let me know when you approach me." Sola decided to play along with the droid for now, at least until she became more familiar with the masculine sounding droid.
"Oh, forgive me Master. I only figured since you have force capabilities that you would have been able to realize I was in the vicinity and recognize me."
Vanessa frowned, unsure of how to react to that. Force capabilities? She wasn't quite sure what that meant... Perhaps that's why she'd been able to almost tell what people were feeling as of late.
"Well... you startled me that's all."
"Very well, I will not try to startle you. Are you and..." He looked down at Mal on the computer and scanned everything that he was reading. "..your friend here to stay your Lake Cottage?"
"He's just a friend." Sola said evenly even though she had bit her tongue to bite back a retort. "And yes... we are after we do some research."
"Very well. I have a transport to take us there once you finish here. Once again, I am happy to see that you are alive and well, even though a number of years has passed since we last saw each other. We have much to talk about in private Master." The droid sounded pleased and his photoreceptors glowed purple and red.
"Well that's good to hear." Sola nodded. "Could you give me a hand with this?" She gestured to her screen and the droid bent over, keeping his side sensors fixed on Mal, trying to determine if he was a threat to his Master or not.

Mal heard a droid talking to Sola, but he paid it no real attention. He was wrapped up in his research and was currently on an article about that covered Star Destroyers that had gone missing in and never turned up.
It was an interesting piece featuring the myths that had sprung up around the ships disappearances. Perhaps there was something in here that he could use.
Sinking deeper into his chair, he continued to read...

On Sola's screen read several documents pertaining to missing people in the last few years. She was trying to figure out who she had been before whatever happened that had led to her waking up in a medical lab on the stormy ocean planet of Kamino.
She also brought up another page that had ancient looking symbols. "I need to know what that says."
"Master, you amuse me. Is this a game you're trying to play?" The droid asked.
Sola blinked a few times and looked up at the droid. I wish it was. "...I'm afraid not."
The droid's tone became almost sorrowful. "Well then, it's most important that I take you to your lake cottage once we leave her. Perhaps you will find your way back to your identity."
"What does the phrase say?" Sola's tone became stronger, with her need to know more than the droid seemed able to give her.
"That is a phrase you made. And it is written on your right ribcage in tattoo ink in the ancient Sith language." The droid's tone became dark.
...I must know this droid somehow. Sola thought as her heart lept into her throat. She did indeed have a tattoo written in ancient Sith on the right side of her rib cage but had no idea what it meant. Now at least she knew that the droid was telling the truth. How many people had Sith tattoos written on them? Then again, perhaps the tattoo was generic. There could be zillions of beings throughout the galaxy with similar tattoos.
"What does it say in basic?" She asked, her voice hoarse as if the lump in her throat was making it hard to swallow.
"I think that is enough for now. Such conversation is not proper to ruin idyllic lives and spread public gossip." The droid rotated his head, making sure no one was within hearing distance. He looked over Mal and began reading what he was reading on Star Destroyers.
"Looking to rejoin the Imperials or are you a deep space explorer?" D1e looked over Mal and figured he looked a bit unarmed and not as nosy as Imperial, and too shady to be a deep space explorer but he asked nonetheless.

Mal was deeply engrossed in his article when he heard a voice directed at him.
Looking around wildly as he was distracted, he glared at the origin of the voice. He looked the droid that he disrupted him up and down and then paused a moment on its face, shooting it an angry look.
He had no idea who this droid was questioning him, or what right it thought it had to bother him. After holding the glare for several seconds, Mal turned back to his screen and shifted his body to block the screen from the droid. A few keys were hit by his fingers and Mal activated the privacy field around him.
No good droid, Mal thought as he returned his focus to his research.
He had been concentrating on one specific Star Destroyer - the Invictus, when he had been interrupted. The ancient behemoth had gone missing pre the Battle of Yavin which matched with the legends he had heard. It had been an Imperial Star Destroyer - Nebula class and had been loaded with goods that were classified as confidential. The destination had been undisclosed.
Well, it was a start, Mal thought. Out of the list of ships he had gone through, this was the only one of the SD's that drew his attention as something suspicious. Maybe it was worth looking into.
Double checking that the privacy field was still operational, Mal began searching for all the known information on the Invictus. What he found very interesting was the fact that the Nebula class ship had only been officially brought into service around the Battle of Endor, but this specific one had been dispatched pre the Battle of Yavin.
This was definitely something alright...

Vanessa saw that Mal was angered by the droid. The droid didn't seem to care by the man's reaction to him watching what he was sifting through. "Stop it." She slapped the droid's arm.
The droid reacted to her in a low tone. "Very well Master." He was not accustomed to taking orders from anyone other than his Master, however his Master seemed to have changed her tune. He was not sure why she was acting the way she was. Perhaps she wanted him to spy on her friend from in the distance, rather than in the open. It might prove more useful that way.
Vanessa glanced at Mal, but not at his screen. She tore off a piece of flimsi from the notepad that sat on the desk and grabbed a pen and wrote. "I say we take the lake cottage and sleep there tonight. It'd be more comfortable and secluded than anywhere around here." She pushed it over to Mal so he could read it. She wasn't quite sure if she trusted this droid yet... and she wanted time to observe it, and ask it more questions before she made up her mind about it.

Glancing up from his desk Mal saw the note Sola was passing him. His eyes caught hers for the briefest moment, and as he looked down at the note a small smile crossed his lips.
He grabbed a pen and scribbled on the note, before passing it back to her,
Sure, it sounds good to me. I've heard some fantastic wines are bottled down by the lake country, perhaps we should try some...

Vanessa smirked inwardly, but her facial features remained neutral. Wine? He was thinking about wine? Was this his attempt at flirting or did he have ulterior motives? She hadn't had a vacation for as long as she could remember, which didn't count for much. She had after all woken up from a coma two years ago and couldn't remember much other than what seemed like snippets of dreams before then.
And if the droid was correct and she was his master, and did own a lake cottage in the Lake Country, then that would definitely help bring her one step closer to finding out her true identity and her attempts to pick up the pieces of her former life.
"Let's wine and dine then, shall we?" She raised an eyebrow at him, flashing her bright blue green eyes at him and standing. She had downloaded all the information she had been searching for onto a datapad which she tucked into her tunic and then proceeded to wipe the computer's memory and its history with the program she had uploaded to it before using it.

Mal smiled at her as he stood, deactivating the session he had on the screen before him as he did so.
He had found more than enough for now to begin his search for the lost treasure, and was sure he had found something that might be relevant to what had happened to it.
Bowing slightly with his head to show is agreement, Mal spoke to Sola,
"Lead the way..."

"Very well. Perhaps we can take your transportation to our destination?"
Sola frowned, wondering whyt he droid wouldn't have had its own at this point if she was indeed its master and they had been away from one another for so long. "Very well."
The droid stood up and waited for Vanessa Sola to stand up after she had finished gathering her data and make her way past the computer terminals and the bookshelves and towards the entrance to the library.
The sun was shining brilliantly and various native birds whistled their tunes from the rooftops and higher trees planted in pots around the courtyard entrance to the library. Citizens moved out of the way of the trio fairly quickly at the sight of the ominous looking droid following an odd looking pair of travellers as they made their way to the Skipray blastboat that they had touched down on in one of Theed's larger hangars.
Once they had arrived at the hangar, Sola showed her credentials to the hangar bay keeper and they were given access to the area of the hangar it was stowed in. It had been refueled and was ready for action. Refueling was included in the price it had cost to land here.
"Alright you'll have to go in the back." The droid said to Mal, gesturing at the small looking space behind the two main seats in the Wasp's cockpit. His voice gave off an air of dark amusement.
Sola raised an eyebrow and pursed her lips in amusement as she looked to Mal to see what his response would be.

Mal glanced darkly at the droid, briefly, but decided it would be best to say nothing and simply do as he was told.
"Very well."
Was all the response Mal gave as he climbed into the Skipray. In his mind he was fuming at the nerve of some inorganic machine giving him orders, but judging by the aggressive outward appearance of the droid it would not be in Mal's own interest to have an altercation with it.
"Alright Sola, take us away from here."
Mal glanced up at the late afternoon sky, and saw a full moon beginning to rise across the clear blue sky. Tonight it would shine brightly, and the urge would come upon him again...
