Ravelin is the capital city of the Imperial planet Bastion. It contains the Imperial Headquarters, the Imperial palace, and the Imperial Library. The city is the very heart of the empire with a vast admistration district and millitary complexes as well as an entertainment and shopping sector to rival that of Coruscants. Many large galactic corporations have offices within the capital city itself located in the citys bustling central business district.

Devlin walked with his son and his best friend in the market place to pick out some fresh snacks to eat while they watch the Imperial Gladiators event that was making its debut.
Devlin's old friend, Jonah, was going to be participating. He was excited to take his 12 year old son, Rhett.
"Father, when do you think Uncle Jonah will fight?" the boy asked.
"I'm not sure. But, if I remember Jonah, we'll definitely know!"
Devlin walked with a limp he received during his early years as a Storm Trooper. As a matter of fact, he received the injury while trying to help Jonah escape a bunker that had received debris from a crashed Tie Fighter.

Jax and his brother Kit made their way through the sea of citizens headed into the grand arena to see the Imperial Gladiators fight it out in what had been promoted as being the spectator event of the year. This season promised to be even better than last year and the two brothers were estatic to see how the organisers would top the previous year which had been a great one. All along the streets on the way into the arena vendors shouted out to the passing crowd, offering all sorts of drinks, snacks and merchandise for sale.
"Come on Jax lets go, hurry I want to get a decent seat this time". Kit shouted excitedly pulling his older brothers arm enthusistically. Jax laughed at Kits boyish excitement and increased his pace, the two of them walking hurriedly through the crowd dodging and weaving their way up the street as they headed towards the area entrance. "Its a shame you won't be here for the last half of the season, we could of got tickets for the whole thing". Kit said in a raised voice to be heard over the noise of the crowd. Jax smiled back at him in response. In a few months he'd be leaving to join the Imperial navy and would be shipped out to some remote base at the edge of the galaxy to under go his training. "Well we'll just have to make the most of it while i'm here". He said back to Kit with a wink.

A huge line was already formed outside of the Arena. Rhett asked if he could go play with other kids in the fountain located in the center square of the marketplace.
At 12, Rhett, was already a pretty responsible kid. While he still maintained his playful nature, he'd already begun to show the common sense expected of an Imperial youth. Afterall, his future was pretty much mapped up for him. He'd like to be like his father as a Stormtrooper. Especially after all the stories of the amazing adventures his father had.
However, Devlin had been injured and forced into retirement for all of Rhett's life. While other kids his age have parents usually still very active, Rhett has had to imagine his father as the man he once was. Though, this never diminished the respect and utter admiration he felt for his father.
"Be back soon. Once they start moving this line, we'll be right in." Devlin told his son.
Rhett took off toward the Market Square to join the dozen of children enjoying splashing in the fountain.

A long line at formed at the entrance to the arena by the time Jax and Kit got there. Kit whined in annoyance at now having to wait to get inside the stadium, but stopped fidgeting when his older brother put a strong hand on his shoulder and softly squeezed it. "Patience Kit, we'll be inside before too long". Jax reassured him. "And it looks like we'll get good seats too, there's only a few thousand people ahead of us". He remarked flashing his brother a grin. Kit sighed in expaseration. "I hate waiting". He complained. "The anticipation is killing me". Jax chuckled softly. "You're going to have to learn some restraint if you're going to join the Stormtrooper corps when you're older". His older brother commented.
Kit rolled his eyes. "That won't be for another six years, i've got plenty of time to be a brat between now and then". Kit joked. Jax said nothing but smiled in response. "Meanwhile i'll be the captain of my own Star Destroyer". He replied. "You'll probably end up serving under me as one of the cannon fodder drones". He teased with a laugh ruffling Kits hair. Kit grunted and shoved his brothers hand away drawing another laugh from the older boy who was on the verge of manhood. "Stuff being stuck on a destroyer, I want to be a commando". He said back with a wide grin.

Devlin turned to talk with his friend, Kopeland. They were laughing at the young Stormtrooper squad marching just near the crowd. Clearly, one of them was off sync.
They shouted to the disaster in white armour. "HEY KID, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER TAKING UP NERF HERDING!"
As they laughed, Devlin felt a surge of pain in his leg, something unusual. Seconds later...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Somewhere between them and the center square a large explosion erupted! Screams were heard, but, almost eerily, the crowd moved in a somewhat coordinated defensive posture. The armed troopers relied on their training and immediately began to search for their attackers.
Devlin hit the ground on instinct. He lifted his head to realize he could no longer see the center square.
"RHETT!!!!!!!"
He launched himself upwards into the dust and debris and made his way to the center. He could hear a Stormtrooper yell out an order for him to stay clear, one which he ignored.
"RHETT?! Where are you?"
Devlin made it to the center, which was partially on fire and half destoyed. A shadow appeared from the smoke, he was hopefully it was Rhett. The closer it came, the larger it appeared and it remained a dark shadow.
It revealed itself and leaped into Devlin's body.

The Place was swarming with Storm troopers Right Away. The Fortress world was nigh impenetrable. How did something actually get past their watch. Even the sith couldn't get in as history had proved. the fact that this attack happened meant it was an imperial citizen or perhaps worse, something similar to the Republics. The relief came, helping those wounded. Other crews began questioning all citizens in the area. The whole area was quarantined and no one would leave without a search and questioning of their person. Emergancy first aid began, Not even the wounded would leave yet.

Jax and Kit were waiting quietly when suddenly Kit heard a strange droning noise. "Hey did you hear...". He started to ask, but the rest of the question was cut off by a massive explosion that blew apart the street and tore through the masses of people on their way into the stadium. Jax felt himself get picked up by some invisible hand and hurled through the air like a childs toy a searing hot pain erupted in his legs making his vision blur with agony for a split second before a bone jarring impact rattled his entire body as he hit the ground hard. Darkness consumed the young mans vision momentarily for a few seconds before his vision returned and in a daze he tried to lift his head and look about himself. Not being able to see much but dark clouds of smoke and the street beside him that was littered with corpses and blood he tried to sit upright, his entire body being racked once more with pain as he attempted to do so.
He groaned in agony and fell back the few inches he'd managed to lift himself and lay on the cold hard duracreet sidewalk in silence, the pain bluring his vision as he tried to keep his eyes open to see what was going on. His eyes felt impossibly heavy as he fought to keep from slipping into unconciousness once more, but it was a battle he knew he couldn't win. So resigning himself Jax lay his head on the ground and looked up at the darkening blue sky that signalled the late afternoon and let the darkness take him.
A stormtrooper from the regiment of soldiers that had rushed to the scene and made it there in record time looked around at the carnage that engulfed the street. The entire boulivard was littered with the dead, wounded and dying, not to mention limbs that had been seperated from their owners and other smoking and bloody hunks of meat that were indistinguishable. He swallowed hard and had to fight not to vomit inside his helmet. The sight of the massacre from the bomb blast was enough to make the strongest stomach churn and the smell only made things worse. The smell of instantly barbecued flesh invading his nostrils through his helmet made him dry reech as he leaned on a nearby wall for support due to his sudden light headedness. No more than five meters from where he stood he saw the reamins of a young boy he recognised as his neighbour. The kid had been blown apart by the blast and now all that remained was half of his face and a mangled looking torso with part of one extremelly charred arm clinging pacariously to what was left of the boys shoulder. The trooper gulped several times as he stared at the remains of kit Soozer.
Unable to stop it as he felt it come he quickly reached up and removed his helmet just in time as a burst of vomit erupted from his mouth and splattered the ground at his feet a dark yellowy off brown colour. He stared at it for a few moments before wiping the cold sweat from his forehead and placing his helmet back on his head and turned around to return to his duty. As he did so he saw a dark black oil like substance leap at him from out of nowhere and envelop him in its inky embrace.

As squads of stormtroopers began locking things down, Devlin stood a man possesed. He picked up a rifle from a severed arm and began firing away randomly. As if there weren't enough victims, Devlin, no, the evil that had taken over Devlin, was adding callously to the death toll.
Across the other side of the square was the 12-year old Rhett, trapped under some debris.
His eyes began to focus and the picture of his father unloading on anyone and anything before him became clear, yet he could not believe what he was seeing. Devlin started firing in a 360 pattern and the shots were getting closer and closer to Rhett, who was frantically trying to pull his leg from under a concrete block.
"NO, father, what is wrong with you?"
As Devlin turned to face Rhett, he could finally see in his eyes. It was not his father, the blackened eyes revealed as much. However, he had no time to think about it. Without hesitation, Devlin's rifle turned on Rhett's location. Just before he could get a round off, Rhett freed his injured leg and dodged the on-coming fire while taking shelter behind a wall of durasteel.
While all of this was happening, Devlin could see and hear everything. He could not move or make a sound. He felt a darkness that consumed him. He was helpless and the sight of his son nearly being killed by his own hands terrified him.
Run Rhett. Get the hell out of here! Shots began to come back at Devlin as the regrouped storm troopers aimed to take the man out.

The Stormtroopers rushed to take down the man, shooting him in non vital areas. The commander of the area hoped they got answers or else his head my be served up on a platter. In matters such as this, the empire would be out to place blame quickly and end it publicly weather or not the head was the right one. Then worry about it in secrecy.

It has been hours since the incident. Devlin's eyes begin to crack open. A bright light blinded his unprepared eyes.
He tried to move and felt the restraints on his wrists. He looked up and quickly realized he was in an interogation room. It was cold and covered in chrome.
No one else was in the room with him.
Devlin has seen these types of room in use before. They always start off clean, cold, and sterile and typically end up a bloody mess.
But he could hardly focus on the impending hurt he was to face. His thoughts centered on his son, Rhett. It was tearing at him being unable to protect him. Rhett's mother died giving birth to him and Devlin had been his only guardian aside from the first few years of his life, when his grandparents cared for him while Devlin was a Stormtrooper.
After Devlin was injured and forced to retire, he found a new purpose in educating and raising his son.
Deep down, he felt a subtle confidence knowing Rhett was a smart kid and was of the age where he could be resourceful enough to take care of himself for a short while, but at the same time, the fear of what was lurking out there drove him to pull at his restraints with all of his might.
"GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG MAN!!! SOMEONE?? HELP ME. MY SON IS OUT THERE ALONE"
